Operation
Innovation with purpose is what TNO stands for. We develop knowledge not for its own sake but for practical application. To create new products that make life more pleasant and valuable and help companies innovate. To find creative answers to the questions posed by society.
We work for a variety of customers: governments, the SME sector, large companies, service providers and non-governmental organisations. Working together on new knowledge, better products and clear recommendations for policy and processes. As ‘knowledge brokers’ we advise our customers, moreover, on finding the optimum solutions that are geared precisely to the questions they have.
TNO holds a prominent position in international science and develops new knowledge together with universities and the technology top institutes. TNO also participates in a large number of projects within the European Union’s R&D programme. Thanks to this development of knowledge, TNO is always able to offer its clients the latest high-quality knowledge.
One of TNO’s core areas is Healthy Living. Healthy food, good working conditions, healthcare, sport: these are major influences on the quality of our daily life. That’s why they are gaining increasing attention. At TNO, too: we investigate how we can safeguard and improve the health of people and how they perform.
The business unit Healthy, Vital and Safe Work is an important partner for public and private sectors in the area of occupational safety and health and other work-related issues.
